🇨🇳 What Is a March Intake? A March intake is an academic admission period in which universities admit new students for programs beginning around March. The availability of a March intake depends on the university, program and country. Not every institution offers March admission, so students need to identify universities and programs that specifically accept applications for this intake. For students interested in China, March can provide an alternative to the traditional September intake, with selected universities and programs offering opportunities during this period.

🌏 Why Consider the March 2027 Intake?
🎓 An Alternative Admission Opportunity
If you missed the September intake or are not ready to wait until the next major intake, March can provide another opportunity to begin your studies.
🇨🇳 Scholarship Opportunities
China offers various scholarship opportunities for international students. Depending on the university and scholarship program, students may find full or partial funding covering some combination of tuition, accommodation, living expenses and other benefits.
Students should always verify the exact scholarship conditions because coverage differs between programs.
📚 Different Study Programs
Depending on the university, March intake opportunities may be available across different academic areas, including:
- Information Technology
- Engineering
- Business & Management
- Economics
- Education
- Health Sciences
- Agriculture
- Environmental Sciences
- Social Sciences
- Other specialized fields
Program availability varies by institution.
💰 What Can a Full Scholarship Cover?
One of the major attractions for students considering China is the availability of full scholarship opportunities.
A particular full scholarship may include:
✅ Tuition fees
✅ University accommodation
✅ Monthly living allowance
✅ Medical insurance
✅ Other benefits specified by the scholarship
However, "full scholarship" does not automatically mean every expense is covered. Students should carefully review the official scholarship offer to understand what is included and what they may need to pay themselves, such as certain application costs, travel expenses or personal expenses.
At GLES APPLY, we help students understand the available offer before proceeding.
📝 Who Can Apply?
Eligibility depends on the university, program and scholarship.
Applicants may need to meet requirements relating to:
- Academic qualifications
- Previous study
- Age, where applicable
- Language proficiency
- Academic performance
- Passport and nationality requirements
- Program-specific conditions
- Scholarship-specific requirements
For this reason, students should not assume that one university's requirements apply to all universities.
Our team helps applicants assess their academic background and identify suitable opportunities.
📑 Documents You May Need
Although requirements vary, students applying for international university programs may commonly need:
- Valid passport
- Academic certificates
- Academic transcripts
- Passport-size photographs
- CV, where applicable
- Study plan or personal statement
- Recommendation letters, where required
- Language proficiency documents, where applicable
- Medical documents, where required
- Other university-specific documents
Preparing these documents early can help avoid unnecessary delays.
🏫 How to Choose the Right University

Students should consider:

Is the program taught in English, Chinese or another language?
3. Scholarship
What exactly does the scholarship cover?
4. Admission Requirements
